The Coptic Church is based on the teachings of Saint Mark, who preached Christianity in Egypt during the reign of the Roman ruler "Nero" in the first century, about twenty years after the rise of Christ. And St. Mark is one of the evangelists wrote the first Gospel. Christianity spread throughout Egypt, during the half-century of the arrival of St. Mark to Alexandria (as is evident from the texts of the New Testament that were discovered in Bahnasa, Middle Egypt, and dated about 200 AD., And a small part of the Gospel of St. John, written in the Coptic language; which was found In Upper Egypt it is dated in the first half of the second century). The Coptic Church - now more than nineteen centuries old - has been the subject of many prophecies in the Old Testament. He says (Isaiah the Prophet in chapter 19, verse 19): "In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD."
